ACAS has published a detailed guidance note to help parents decide whether the benefits of shared parental leave will work for them.

The Shared Parental Leave: a good practice guide for employers and employees, as well as to provide employers with an understanding of their legal obligations and good practice procedures to use in their workplace.  Employers may also be interested in reading the technical guidance which the Department of Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) published earlier this month.

Of course neither document gives full detail of the complex rules nor delves into all of the ambiguities or tricky issues which the regime throws up.  If you would like to know more about this, Clyde & Co is offering HR professionals and in-house Counsel bespoke training on the new regime, covering its legal background and complexities as well as an explanation of what the changes will mean in practice.  For more detail about our training sessions, please click here.
