The Cayman Islands Government is encouraging persons who trade in animals and plants listed under the Endangered Species (Trade and Transport) Law 2004 (ESTTL) to register with the Ministry of Environment. The ESTTL was created after the UK extended the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna (CITES) to Cayman.

There is no cost for registration. Businesses wishing to view the list of animals and plants that are regulated under the ESTTL, or those wishing to download a CITES trader registration form, can visit the Department of Commerce and Investment (DCI) website, www.dci.gov.ky.

Anyone who trades in CITES-listed animals and plants, and the product derivatives of those animals or plants, can also visit the Business Licensing Counter on the first floor of the Government Administration Building from 9am to 4pm, Mondays to Fridays, to collect a registration form and an information brochure.

Completed forms can be dropped to the counter or emailed to info@dci.gov.ky. For more information, please contact the Ministry's Senior Policy Advisor Troy Jacob on 244-2466 or email troy.jacob@gov.ky.
