Pryor Cashman has been named one of the nation's top law firms by Chambers USA for the 11th consecutive year. As in previous years, the firm's Media + Entertainment and Immigration Groups, along with several individual attorneys, were recognized among the best in their fields.

"Vigorous" Media + Entertainment Litigators

The firm's Media + Entertainment Group was noted for its strength in music litigation, particularly in disputes on behalf of artists, songwriters, music publishers and record labels. Chambers also cited the firm's expertise in "royalty rate-setting, contractual and intellectual property litigation," calling the Group "adept in counseling clients involved in theater, film, TV and literary publishing, with particular depth of expertise in the representation of motion picture studios."

Donald Zakarin, co-head of the Music Litigation practice, was singled out for his work representing well-known musicians and major record labels in their most significant disputes, with a particular focus on copyright challenges. "He is considered by market sources to be a great litigator and one of the premier guys in the music space," Chambers wrote.

Similarly, Brad Rose, head of the firm's Intellectual Property Group, was once again recognized as "a popular choice to represent clients in the entertainment industry, including prominent musicians and record labels. [Rose] is particularly well-versed in intellectual disputes."

Immigration Group Goes "Above and Beyond"

Chambers also lauded the firm's Immigration Group, saying, "the team is incredibly diligent, professional and thorough in their advice and practices. [They] advise national and multinational clients across an expansive array of industries, including education and technology, and are recognized for their specialty in immigration matters arising in the sports industry. Areas of focus include I-9 compliance, H-1B visas, long-term strategic immigration plans...issues related to changing corporate structure and workplace investigations."

Immigration Group Chair Colleen Caden was praised for her niche expertise in counseling professional sports leagues, teams and athletes on a range of immigration matters. Chambers also reported, "she is very responsive and a pleasure to work with."

Partner Avram Morell was recognized in both Chambers USA and Chambers Global as "a very careful and precise thinker who is very well respected in the community of immigration attorneys."

Additionally, Partner Maria Fernanda Gandarez was ranked as a "Recognized Practitioner" in immigration law.
