Increased number of applications for industrial property protection

It seems that the promotional efforts of the Intellectual Property Office of Serbia have been effective. According to statistics from the IP Office for 2013, the number of trademark applications increased by 40%, the number of patent applications increased by 5% and industrial design applications increased by 42% compared to last year.

IP Translator – Croatia launches a joint communication tool for the national offices of EU member states

The State Intellectual Property Office has launched a joint communication tool for the national offices of EU member states responsible for the registration of trademarks within the European network of trademarks and designs. The communication contains criteria for analysis of the clarity and precision of certain classification terms with respect to the judgment of case C-307/10 "IP Translator", which is in addition to the already determined guidelines from previous communications.

A Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed with the Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Market (OHIM)

The Montenegrin Intellectual Property Office and OHIM signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on 20 February 2014, which is intended to improve cooperation between the two offices through the exchange of experience and practice, professional trainings, the exchange of trademark and design data and data on their availability in the databases TMView and DesignView.
