For the second year in a row, PLMJ is on the list of the 100 best law firms in the world for international arbitration, according to Global Arbitration Review (GAR), the leading international publication in this area. PLMJ was the first Portuguese firm to appear on GAR's annual ranking, having made the list last year.

In the opinion of GAR, José Miguel Júdice, partner and head of PLMJ Arbitration, is "one of the country's few internationally recognised arbitrators". The ranking also highlights the PLMJ Arbitration team's strong track record, as well as its involvement in major cross-border arbitrations in Mozambique, Angola and Brazil, also with member firms of PLMJ International Legal Network.

In turn, the clients contacted by GAR praise the response capacity and availability of the team and its determination to achieve the best results and provide the best service, as demonstrated by its preparation for hearings.

For José Miguel Júdice "this is one of the most important international distinctions and I am very pleased to see the appearance this year on the ranking of our friends at Portuguese law firm MLGTS, and with the fact that five Brazilian firms also make the list, which means that 7% of total comes from the Portuguese- speaking world."

PLMJ Arbitration is one of the key practices of PLMJ and of PLMJ International Legal Network. The practice boasts more than 20 lawyers (including 8 partners) of five nationalities, with a presence in offices in Europa and Africa, acting as both lawyers and arbitrators. The team can represent clients in arbitrations in five languages (Portuguese, English, Spanish, French and German) and has handled cases not only in Portugal, but in a number of other countries.
