The Barbados international business and financial services (IB&FS) sector will again be in the spotlight during this year's International Business Week (IB Week) which runs from October 15-21. Now in its 9th year, IB Week is designed to highlight the importance of the IB&FS sector and its contribution to the Barbados economy through a range of activities organised by the Barbados International Business Association (BIBA), Invest Barbados and other strategic partners from the public and private sector.

The main highlight of the week, the international business conference, will take place on October 19-20 at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, St Michael. This year's event, themed:  Prospering in the Technological Era: Innovate, Integrate, Motivate, will address some of the key issues impacting the IB&FS sector globally.

Attendees can look forward to two days of thought-provoking and insightful presentations from a cadre of eminent local and international industry experts who will examine topics such as: Artificial Intelligence – Is it Bad for Business?; Technology Transforming Lifestyles; Developed Market Debt is Rising – What are the Global Implications; Information-Fiction vs. Non- Fiction  and The Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent BEPS: Its Implications for Double Tax Treaties.
