J A Kemp has appointed an experienced trade mark attorney with specialist expertise in domain name dispute management. Aaron Newell joined the firm as a partner on 4 February.

Aaron, who has a background in leading international law firms has spent periods working in Australia and Canada. Aaron is described as a "world class advisor" by WTR 1000, and The Legal 500 describes him as "a truly outstanding specialist in domain name management, strategy, registration and recovery".

Aaron's work encompasses intellectual property litigation, brand selection and clearance, all types of work before the EUIPO and the UK IPO and international protection of trade marks and brands. He advises clients on internet and domain name monitoring, domain name acquisition and website and social media complaints, representing clients when required at all major tribunals.

This is the fourth recruit to J A Kemp 's rapidly expanding Trade Marks and Designs Group in the past six months. In August 2018 the firm appointed partner Stephen Hodsdon to its Cambridge office. As well as being a UK Chartered and European Patent Attorney, Stephen also practises as a Registered Trade Mark Attorney. More recently, the firm has recruited two trainee trade mark attorneys to support the future growth and development of the practice.
