With the publication of Federal Law 13,097 on January 20, 2015,
the health services sector in Brazil was effectively opened to
foreign capital.
The new law authorizes the full participation of foreign capital
(including the holding of a controlling stake), either directly or
indirectly, in Brazilian companies that operate general or
specialized hospitals, policlinics, and general or specialized
clinics.
