On June 10th, 2013, the Brazilian Secretariat of Foreign Trade (SECEX) of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) initiated an anti-dumping investigation on the imports of tires for passenger vehicles (NCM 4011.20.90) from South Korea, Thailand, South Africa, Russia, Taiwan and Japan.

This investigation was initiated upon request of the National Association of the Pneumatic Industry – ANIP and might result in the application of anti-dumping duties on the imports under analysis.

The Brazilian authorities will now send extensive questionnaires to all the interested parties, namely: producers, importers and exporters from the investigated origins. These companies will have 40 (forty) days to present their responses.

Submitting a response to the questionnaire on due date is highly recommendable in order to obtain a specific dumping margin, which is usually substantially lower then the general margin applied to the companies that do not take part in the investigation.

The International Trade Practice of Felsberg and Associates will be pleased to provide additional information on this matter and to represent companies and class entities in the investigation mentioned above.
