In compliance with Section 246, §1º of the new Brazilian Code of Civil Procedure, which became in force in March, 2016, the Rio de Janeiro State Court enacted the Normative Act #102/2016 to regulate the procedures for the registration of public and private entities (except for micro and small enterprises) to receive notifications and service of process in electronic proceedings. According to the referred Act, entities shall provide their registration by August 1st, 2016 at the website https://www3.tjrj.jus.br/SISTCADPJ/faces/index.jsp For the registration, entities must have the Digital Certificate of Legal Entities and their legal representative shall be previously registered in the system (which can be made by means of the website above, if the legal representative has the Individual Digital Certificate, or in person at any office of the Rio de Janeiro State Court. Regardless of belonging to the same economic group, each company shall have its own registration. However, registration of branches can be made by the headquarter.
