As we reported last week, the Government of British Columbia has announced that the tax regime for LNG development will be introduced in legislation by October 20.

In a further development, British Columbia Finance Minister Mike de Jong announced today that, in addition to the introduction of tax legislation, emissions reporting legislation will also be introduced by the end of October.

He did not give any indication as to what would be in the emissions reporting legislation, or how it would differ from Federal greenhouse gas reporting programs already in place.
