Michael Osborne has been invited by the Competition Bureau to participate at the International Competition Network's (ICN) Cartel Workshop in Cartagena, Columbia, in late October, as a "Non-governmental advisor" (NGA). He will participate as a discussion leader on the topic of "Calculation of sanctions: issues and challenges in multi-jurisdictional cartels".

The ICN is an international network of competition agencies around the world. Its goal is to facilitate contact among competition agencies and to promote best practices in enforcing competition laws. Canada's Competition Bureau has taken a leadership role in the ICN ever since its founding in 2001. Lawyers in private practice participate in ICN activities on an invitation-only basis.
