Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada's (IRCC) electronic application processing systems have been experiencing technical difficulties since October 17, 2016. As a result, there have been corresponding delays in the submission and processing of various Canadian temporary and permanent residency applications. The technical issues are site-wide and are impacting mainly the Applicant Portal (for consular applications, extensions and permanent residency applications). Port of Entry applications have been less affected, with only intermittent disruption to the online Employer Portal accounts. Seyfarth's Canadian immigration teams continue to regularly monitor both IRCC's Applicant and Employer Online Portals and will liaise with IRCC in an effort to expedite all outstanding applications.
