A peaceful protest in Toronto began at 8AM Monday morning against the immigration policies implemented by President Trump. Still in full swing, they have moved from the U.S. Consulate to Toronto City Hall.

With such an early start time, this protest seems to still be going strong. A recent update on a Twitter live feed from the Toronto Star states that at 9:33AM the crowd is now moving back to the U.S. Consulate. Although this is a peaceful demonstration, local authorities are taking the necessary precautions to make sure it does not escalate. If it does, they are prepared.

The crowd is heard chanting "no hate, no fear". This demonstration is a result of a social media callout over the weekend against Trump's recent immigration policy preventing travel into the U.S. from 7 predominantly Muslim nations for a duration of 120 days.

Prime Minister Trudeau posted a response to this on Facebook stating, "To those fleeing persecution, terror and war, Canadians will welcome you, regardless of your faith. Diversity is our strength. #WelcomeToCanada."
