Yesterday's early morning news regarding a woman who scaled up a crane in downtown Toronto has made international headlines from the United States to New Zealand. Today, there are more developments.

An article released Wednesday afternoon by The Toronto Star revealed that the woman who climbed the crane will be facing six criminal mischief charges. She has been identified as Marisa Lazo, 23, and remained in police custody until her court appearance today.

The firefighter, Rob Wonfor, who rescued Lazo said that she was not difficult to deal with, as she just wanted to get down from where she was which was said to be approximately 12 storeys above the ground.

Rob was interviewed by many news sources and publicly praised the Emergency Task Force negotiator that scaled the crane with him. Rob said, "he was like a late-night talk show host, the way he talked, kept her really calm," and went on to compare his voice to the late Perry Como.

His rescue was something you would see out of a movie. Instead of being lowered to the ground while sitting on the crane, Wonfor found it was safer to rappel to the ground with the two of them strapped together.

Much to Wonfor's surprise, when he had to cut his interviews short to attend his 11 a.m. hockey game, he received a call from Don Cherry himself. Don, otherwise known as "Grapes" to the hockey community, has been known to support the Troops and first responders, especially on his Hockey Night in Canada (HNIC) Coach's Corner broadcasts, and thanked Rob for his service.

After Don thanked Rob, he added, "Boy, that was something. I know one thing, I'd never get that high and God love you and keep up the good work. Congratulate all the guys who helped over there. You guys are great!"

Today however, Marisa Lazo made her court appearance. She was released on $500 bail, with the condition she doesn't enter construction sites or go on rooftops of buildings. She also was charged with six counts of public mischief.

During her court appearance, a couple of her friends were present and told reporters that they were not surprised she did such a stunt, she's an adventure-seeking girl.
