Aviva Canada is supporting Canadian startups that are disrupting the insurance industry and will help create innovative digital experiences for customers. Those who fit the bill are encouraged to apply for Aviva's annual Pitch Day.

The event will see up to 10 leading-edge startup companies pitch their ideas to Aviva's global venture fund, Aviva Ventures, for an equity investment of up to C$10 million.

In order to qualify for consideration, each startup must have raised at least C$200,000 to date and must fit into one of the following four investment categories:

  • The 'Internet of Things'
  • Data and Analytics
  • Disruptive Distributions
  • Innovative propositions

Startup companies that meet the criteria must submit their application by August 14 at 4:00 p.m. ET.

Toronto continues to be an attractive spot for global venture capitalists and investors to invest in, and Aviva's Pitch Day is further proof of the city's growing reputation in the tech and startup space.
