Today, the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced important changes to the Express Entry System. IRCC has changed the deadline for which applicants are required to submit an electronic application for permanent residence through the Express Entry system. The deadline is being updated to 60 calendar days from the previous deadline of 90 calendar days after receiving an invitation to apply. Express Entry candidates who receive an Invitation to Apply after June 26, 2018 will now have 60 days to submit an application for permanent residence. Express Entry candidates invited to apply before June 26, 2018, will still have 90 days to complete an application.
