Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands – Solomon Harris Attorneys-At-Law is the official gold sponsor for Cayman Entrepreneurship Day, scheduled for Thursday, 10 April at the Family Life Centre.

Organised for the second consecutive year by the Department of Commerce and Investment (DCI), the event provides a platform for local business owners to promote their products and services. It also offers them technical assistance, through workshops and face-to-face meetings with accomplished Cayman-based entrepreneurs.

The doors to the expo open at 9:00 a.m., with the workshops commencing at 10:00 a.m. The evening reception, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., will provide networking opportunities.

Sponsors for the event also include Dart Enterprises Ltd, Cayman National Bank, Cayman Enterprise City, Davenport Development, Department of Tourism and Mary Lou's Fine Wine and Spirits.

'Solomon Harris is proud to have the opportunity to support the Entrepreneurship Day Small Business Expo in 2014', said the firm's Managing Partner Sophia Harris. 'Small business entrepreneurs are vital to the Cayman economy, both to meet local needs today and to provide success stories for the future.

'We feel it is important that there is the necessary support to enable businesses to grow and thrive, and to meet the challenges of the current economic climate', Mrs Harris noted. 'The promotion and success of brick and mortar businesses in Cayman, started and run by locally based small business entrepreneurs, does and will provide income and employment opportunities to Caymanians, and is the real barometer of the strength of our economy'.

DCI Director Ryan Rajkumarsingh is pleased with the response to this local event.

'We are grateful to Solomon Harris and other sponsors for sharing in our vision to invest in our community by assisting local businesses', he said. 'We expect this event to again be informative, and we look forward to seeing the vibrancy of our small business community on display'.

Speakers for the evening reception include Caymanian architect and entrepreneur Cindy O'Hara, the Chief Development Officer for Cayman Enterprise City; international businesswoman Debora Gill, who with her husband manages NewpaperArchive.com, the world's leading online newspaper archive that serves newspapers, libraries, and consumers in more than 15 countries; and Victor Crumbley, owner of Dash Strategies Limited, a social marketing company incorporated to address local youth development issues.
