Andreas Neocleous & Co. has recently been awarded the ISO 9002 Standard of Quality Management Systsmes by Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI). Once again the firm has led the way to improving the quality of legal services by being the first law firm in Cyprus to receive such an accreditation. The importance of this accreditation is emphasized by the fact that very few law firms in the world have been awarded with the ISO 9002.

ISO 9002 is a series of international standards for businesses and governments that define the requirements for an effective quality system. The ISO 9000 series covers twenty elements within an organisation that affects the quality of products and services. It provides guidelines for the best practice for each of these elements to ensure that the organisations' products and services meet their customers' requirements.

A ceremony was held at the offices of Andreas Neocleous & Co. in Limassol on 23 March 1999 and was attended by foreign dignitaries, government officials and prominent members of the business community in Cyprus. The award was presented to the managing partner of the firm, Andreas Neocleous, by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Glafkos Clerides. In his speech, the President expressed the government's support for every effort made towards the improvement of quality in products and services. He also stated that achieving and maintaining a high standard of quality will help promote Cyprus even further as an international business center. During the ceremony, the general manager of Bureau Veritas in Athens, Pierre Peynaud, explained the importance of quality in gaining a competitive advantage and surviving today's aggressive business environment.

Receiving the award is only the stepping stone of our path towards excellence. By obtaining the certification ISO 9002 Standard for Quality Management Systems, the firm is merely laying the foundation for the implementation of the Total Quality Management Systems within its operations. Cultivating quality has always been an ongoing process for the management and staff of Andreas Neocleous & Co. and it runs through every fibre of the firm.
