On June 20, France adopted a law revising the French data protection
framework (resulting from law 78-17 of January 6, 1978) to
incorporate requirements under the GDPR (source document in
French). France also adopted a complementary decree on August 1 to
adjust regulatory implementation measures originally set forth on
June 2, 2005. The new French regulatory framework on data
protection contains rules for specific types of data processing
activities.
