The FT Innovative Lawyers Awards 2016 dinner was held on Wednesday 5 October 2016 at the Natural History Museum in London. Partner Nigel Feetham attended the event on behalf of Hassans.

Hassans was short-listed for one of the awards ("Innovation in Business Development and Knowledge Sharing") for the insurance and Protected Cell Company related work/initiatives Nigel has been involved in.

Nigel Feetham said: "I congratulate the winners. For Hassans just getting shortlisted (with 643 submissions and nominations received from 139 law firms and legal service providers) was an achievement in itself as these comprise the top scored submissions in each category, which are independently researched, including telephone interviews, online feedback from clients and independent referees. I am, however, especially pleased that we were also "Highly Commended" in our category. To have been named along side leading international law firms in such a prestigious forum was extremely satisfying."

He added: "When it comes to innovation the size of the jurisdiction or firm, truly, does not matter. It is about vision, providing thought-leadership at an international level and bringing an entrepreneurial flair. All three are at the heart of what we do."

Hassans were the only offshore law firm to get short-listed and be on the list.

Now in its 11th year of publication, the FT report and rankings was published in the Financial Times last week.
