The Channel Islands Securities Exchange (CISE) completed its rebrand to The International Stock Exchange (TISE) on Monday 7 March.

The Exchange, which is headquartered in Guernsey and opened an office in Jersey at the start of 2015, is also launching its presence in the Isle of Man on Thursday 9 March.

Fiona Le Poidevin, Chief Executive of TISE, was pleased the company had been able to put its plans into action in such a short period of time ahead of the Isle of Man opening, on the back of strong support from its stakeholders since the plans to rebrand were announced.

"We have a very successful brand and our key attributes of being responsive and innovative remain unchanged, so we have been careful to retain some continuity despite the change of name," said Mrs Le Poidevin. "However, it is also important to reflect the internationalisation of the business and especially our plans for the future. This is a very exciting time for the Exchange."

TISE also confirmed that Carolyn Gelling will lead its presence on the ground in the Isle of Man. Her appointment is effective from the beginning of May.

Mrs Le Poidevin added: "I'm very pleased to announce Carolyn as our Head of Isle of Man Office. She brings with her significant experience and joins us from a senior role in the Isle of Man where I know she has an extensive network of contacts. I'm really looking forward to working with her in showcasing the opportunities that TISE offers to businesses in the Isle of Man and the UK.

"I'm already aware that there is significant interest in the island in being able to have straightforward and cost-effective access to an international exchange. In particular, there are Isle of Man businesses across a diverse range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, gaming, and technology in various guises, who may need to access capital to support their growth plans while there are also a number of local service providers who will be required to support this activity through the provision of listing sponsor or accountancy, legal and administration services.

"Carolyn will be highly visible but I would also encourage anyone who has an interest in finding out more to contact either Carolyn, myself or another member of the team."

Mrs Gelling will join TISE from Thomas Miller Investment where she was a Director, as well as holding responsibility for the management and development of the group's collective investment funds business in the Isle of Man and UK.

She is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and a Chartered Wealth Manager, with 20 years of industry experience. A technical investment manager by training, more latterly her focus has been on corporate governance, and business and strategic development for investment businesses and funds, spanning the spectrum of private client and structures, institutional clients and funds, in both the UK and international business jurisdictions.

Mrs Gelling has also completed the Institute of Directors Diploma in Company Direction. She is a past Chairman of the Isle of Man Wealth & Fund Services Association, and now continues as a Committee Member and Life Member, and has also served as a Committee Member of the Isle of Man Branch of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
