Guernsey-headquartered private equity specialist Ipes has been recognised as Fund Administrator of the Year at the 2017 Private Equity Awards.

Ipes' submission focused on its innovation and leadership to support the private equity industry, as demonstrated by the launch of the ID Register - an initiative from the company's Guernsey office created in response to frustration in the industry at the lengthy paper-based connected due diligence process.

Judges commented that that Ipes' victory was in recognition of its development and use of technology and its consideration of how to tailor their offering to clients' needs.

The ID Register is an online platform for CDD, centralised 'know your client' (KYC), FATCA and Investor Reporting. It enables investors to create one complete KYC and FATCA profile and share it securely, making CDD quicker, easier and more cost effective. It has the ability to combine data with multi-jurisdictional reporting for FATCA and CRS, delivery an efficient, cost-effective packing that will report the right information, at the right time, to the right jurisdiction.

The Private Equity Awards are now in their 16th year and recognise those in the private equity industry and its advisers. Ipes also won the award in 2014.

Ipes Chief Executive Chris Merry said: "We are delighted to have won this award and would like to thank our clients for their support. Winning in this category is testament to the commitment and dedication of the whole Ipes team. Everyone has worked hard to achieve this award and I am proud Ipes has been recognised in this way."

The awards ceremony took place at The Park Lane Hotel in London on 19 April.
