Altair Partners has expanded across the Channel Islands to become the first bespoke independent directorship services business to be licensed by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission.

The establishment of Altair Guernsey Limited makes Altair the first fully-licensed pan-Channel Islands business of its kind.

Originally founded in Jersey in 2012, Altair also offers consultancy services and training. It has an extensive book of institutional and entrepreneurial clients – including private equity, real estate and hedge funds, listed companies and investment banks.

Managing Director Michel Davy said he was delighted to build on the 'Altair success story'.

"With the ever-increasing drive for genuine substance on boards and effective corporate governance, the need for high-quality, proactive independent directors with relevant expertise and asset class experience has never been greater," he said. "The team in Guernsey, with their wide-ranging board experience and knowledge of the Guernsey funds and corporate services industry, will now mean that the Altair group is uniquely placed to services this need across the Channel Islands."

Altair Partner and Co-Founder Ian Lambert added: "We are very excited to expand our footprint into Guernsey and look forward to playing an active role in the further development of the local independent directorship services market. We have a strong and proven team with Michel Davy, Sandra Platts and Anne Ewing, who together will provide a solid foundation and launchpad for further growth of the business."
