Guernsey's expertise in financial law has been highlighted again with the Guernsey offices of offshore law firms Carey Olsen and Ogier contributing to a deal that was named High Yield Deal of the Year at the 2018 International Financial Law Review (IFLR) Awards.
Carey Olsen's Corporate & Finance team in Guernsey was recognised for its high-quality work in AnaCap Financial Europe's €325m inaugural bond issue, while Ogier also advised on the deal, which was completed in July 2017 and saw the European financial services private equity firm raise €325m through a bond issue of senior secured floating rate notes due for repayment in 2024.
The Carey Olsen team was led by Partner Ben Morgan, assisted by Senior Associate Emma Penney.
Mr Morgan said he was thrilled the firm had been recognised for playing a key role in a transformative deal.

AnaCap has been a long-standing client of Carey Olsen, having been advised by the offshore law firm on the launch of all three of its flagship funds.
Partner Christopher Jones led a team including Managing Associate Paul Chanter as part of Ogier's role in the deal.

The 2018 IFLR Europe Awards took place on 19 April at the Savoy Hotel in London.
