The Insolvency Service of Ireland has introduced new regulations, which contain the qualification criteria, authorisation requirements and regulatory standards that must be met for individuals to be authorised to carry on the roles of personal insolvency practitioners and approved intermediaries.

The prescribed application forms to be completed by applicants for both roles have also been introduced.

The new regulations are:

  • Personal Insolvency Act 2012 (Authorisation and Supervision of Personal Insolvency Practitioners) Regulations 2013 (SI 209/2013)
  • Personal Insolvency Act 2012 (Authorisation of Approved Intermediaries) Regulations 2013 (SI 216/2013
