Statistics showing that 2015 was a good year for Jersey's legal profession have been welcomed by Ogier.

Figures contained within the Survey of Financial Institutions 2015 show that the legal sector saw 5% growth in economic value (measured by GVA) and 2% growth in productivity.

The figures were compiled by the States of Jersey's independent Statistics Unit, and continue the trend of growth in the legal services and trust and company administration sectors.

Besides being a good year for the industry as a whole, 2015 was a particularly good year for Ogier – the firm was named Offshore Law Firm of the Year by The Lawyer, and International Legal Team of the Year by STEP.

Jonathan Hughes, Head of Ogier's Channel Islands Local Legal Services team, commented "The industry in Jersey is clearly in good shape, and we know that last year's success has carried over to 2016 with strong business and award recognition from Chambers Europe, IFLR, Alpha and Hedgeweek."
