On April 9, 2015, the Mexican Chamber of Deputies approved a Decree that amends Articles 33 and 1006 of the MFLL and was sent to the Senate for its review and approval.

The aim of the reform, is to prohibit the practice of forcing employees to sign blank documents that represent a waiver of their rights, and establishes a secret procedure to denounce this practice and later use it as evidence in the event of a labor claim.

According to the Decree, employers who commit the above-described conduct, may be subject to a prison term of 6 months to 4 years and fines from 125 to 1900 times the minimum wage.
