FinCEN named Michael Mosier as the agency's first Digital Innovation Officer.

Mr. Mosier was also named Deputy Director and succeeds FinCEN's Interim Chief Data Officer Jamal El-Hindi. As Deputy, Mr. Mosier will supervise the agency's efforts to protect U.S. financial integrity and national security. As Digital Innovation Officer, Mr. Mosier will work to promote FinCEN's engagement with emerging technologies and financial innovations.

Mr. Mosier was Chief Technical Counsel at Chainalysis, a cryptocurrency, analytics, compliance and investigations firm. He previously served as FinCEN's Chief of Strategic Advancement, as Associate Director at OFAC, and Deputy Chief in the DOJ's Money Laundering & Asset Recovery Section. Mr. Mosier also worked at the White House National Security Council as Director for Transnational Organized Crime.
