San Diego – July 6, 2020 – Cooley advised Sazerac on its agreement to buy the Paul Masson Grande Amber Brandy brand, related inventory and interests in certain contracts from Constellation Brands for approximately $255 million. Partners Jason Kent and Ben Beerle led the Cooley team advising Sazerac on the transaction, which is expected to close in Q2 of Constellation's 2021 fiscal year. 

Cooley also advised Sazerac on its recently announced agreement to buy the Early Times, Canadian Mist and Collingwood whiskey brands – as well as the Canadian Mist distillery and its production assets – from Brown-Forman.  

Sazerac is one of America's oldest family-owned, privately held distillers with operations in the US, Canada, Australia, Ireland, France, UK and India.
