Assistant Attorney General Brian A. Benczkowski of the DOJ's Criminal Division will step down effective July 3, 2020.

Attorney General William P. Barr commended Mr. Benczkowski for leading some of the DOJ's "most complex white-collar investigations" ever conducted, as well as his innovative approach to law enforcement challenges. Mr. Benczkowski was credited with, among other things, expanding the use of data analytics in criminal investigations and prosecutions during tenure. In addition, Mr. Benczkowski oversaw a number of changes aimed at "promoting transparency in white-collar enforcement."
