On June 28, 2017, the White House announced that President Trump had selected Janet L. Dhillon to be chair of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The EEOC's acting chair, Victoria A. Lipnic, was named acting chair of the EEOC shortly after President Trump took office. Lipnic is currently serving a term that will not expire until 2020, and Commissioner Jenny Yang's term expires on July 1, 2017. If the U.S. Senate confirms Dhillon's nomination, the Commission will still have one imminent vacancy to be filled. In addition, the EEOC currently has a vacant general counsel position.
