On November 16, 2017, the Los Angeles City Council released two
draft ordinances adding Article 4 to Chapter X of the Los Angeles
Municipal Code to regulate cannabis in the City of Los Angeles.
These revised ordinances were read at a Rules Committee hearing on
Monday, November 20, 2017, and approved as amended by a full
Council vote. Notably, the ordinances provide guidelines for
procurement of licenses at the City level in furtherance of State
law requiring city approval to obtain a California license.
