L'Office Américain des Brevets et des Marques (USPTO)
a publié des conseils ('guidance') relatifs à
la brevetabilité d'inventions effectuées avec
l'aide d'intelligences artificielles. Il est notamment
précisé qu'un inventeur ne peut être
qu'une personne physique ayant fourni une « contribution
significative » à l'invention revendiquée,
qui doit être distincte de la contribution d'une
quelconque intelligence artificielle. La publication passe
notamment en revue les différentes décisions portant
sur la notion d'inventeur, ainsi que l'impact (ou le manque
d'impact) sur des aspects tels que les déclarations
d'inventeur, les cessions et l'obligation de candeur.
