Two dozen Philadelphia attorneys are urging the City Council to extend the city's sales tax hike in order to provide $120 million to the Philadelphia School District.
The president of the Council, Darrell Clarke, wants the revenue split between schools and the city pension system, but Matthew S. Olesh says the schools should take precedence.
"Pensions are certainly important," Olesh said. "And I think that there's still time to address that. The school crisis and the funding crisis for the district are happening right now."
