Property Transactions: How to Hold, Protect and Profit from Your
IP," at a webinar sponsored by Thomson Reuters. Mr. Darby will
explain basic strategies, both domestic and international, for
creating new IP, acquiring existing IP, and then exploiting and/or
selling IP, with an eye toward minimizing business risks and
maximizing after-tax profits.
In addition, Mr. Darby will explain where to acquire and hold IP
assets, both domestically and abroad, the tax challenges facing
outbound migrations of IP from the United States, and various
tried-and-true planning ideas, such as the "Double Irish"
structure. Real life examples of effective IP management will be
used, including Microsoft, Apple, Google, Amazon and the Rolling
