Senior Housing News recently published an interesting article on
the increasing demand for luxury senior living (read the full
article at http://seniorhousingnews.com/2016/08/23/luxury-senior-living-booming/).
The gist of the article is that many Baby Boomers are retiring with
considerable wealth and intend to spend it on enjoying their golden
years.
As more and more luxury communities come on line, it will be
interesting to see if there is a "trickle down" effect on
expectations for communities that are not in the luxury market, but
still want to appeal to a high-end consumer. One also wonders
how much of the Baby Boomer's wealth will be eaten up by the
ever-increasing costs of health care – and whether the fear
of those costs may temper their desire for luxury product.
The content of this article is intended to provide a general
guide to the subject matter. Specialist advice should be sought
about your specific circumstances.
