The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued dozens
of subpoenas and information requests to various companies and
advisers in connection with cryptocurrency. The subpoenas include
demands for information regarding the structures of initial coin

cryptocurrency constitutes the sale of securities. The SEC had
previously warned that some ICOs may be violating securities laws
and expressed its intent to look closely at companies involved in
cryptocurrency.
