Thirty-eight judges have been appointed to the Federal Circuit
by ten presidents. Which President has the most appointments?
President Barack Obama, who appointed seven judges from 2010-2015.
Second place is a tie between President George H.W. Bush, who
appointed five judges between 1989-1992, and President Ronald
Reagan, who also appointed five judges between 1984-1988. President
Bill Clinton appointed four judges between 1994-2000. Chief Judge
Sharon Prost, the current Chief Judge and the seventh since the
creation of the Federal Circuit, was appointed by President George
W. Bush.
