GLA – Gabinete Legal Angola and TTA – Sociedade de Advogados, the members of PLMJ Network in Angola and Mozambique, have achieved nine nominations.

The list of nominees for the fourth edition of The African Legal Awards has been published. These awards are organised by the prestigious British publication Legal Week and PLMJ Network has achieved a total of nine nominations. It was this network, with a presence in important markets like Angola and Mozambique, which won the most nominations and, in doing so consolidated its position as a legal services provider in Portuguese-speaking countries. These awards recognise the work of large international firms and of a few of Africa's leading independent firms.

Among all the nominees, PLMJ Network is the one that has achieved the most nominations in the greatest range of practice areas, including M&A, litigation, property, transport and infrastructure, and employment. This achievement contributes to consolidating its increasingly strong position as a full-service firm, not only in Portugal, but also in all the countries where PLMJ Network has a presence.

TTA, the member of PLMJ's network for Mozambique, has been nominated for the fourth consecutive year in six categories that include non-institutional areas like social responsibility and innovation. GLA, the member of PLMJ's network for Angola, has achieved three nominations this year in categories including 'Property Team of the Year' and 'Employment Team of the Year'.

For PLMJ managing partner, Luís Pais Antunes, "It is remarkable that with only six years operating in Angola and five in Mozambique, the work done by the team is dedicated to Africa (GLA, TTA and the PLMJ Desks) has been so widely recognised For Bruno Xavier de Pina, the partner who heads the PLMJ Angola Desk, "this greater number of nominations is further recognition of PLMJ's unshakeable determination and great merit in building and growing this enormous international project".

Besides this recognition, PLMJ has also recently been nominated for The Law Society Excellence Awards in the category of 'Excellence in International Legal Services'. This nomination recognises the evolution of a model for better intercommunication and integration of services and practice areas between the operations in Angola and Mozambique. The aim of this model is to achieve ever greater efficiency and to strengthen the synergies and strategic focus for PLMJ Network, and this recognition confirms the network's strong position as a full-service, independent network with a strong international presence, in particular, in Portuguese-speaking countries.
