The most recent amendment to this compendium includes the BVI Business Companies (Amendment) Act, 2016, in force 15 January 2016, which amended sections 118, 118A, 118B and Schedule 1, and came into force 1 April 2016. The BVI Business Companies (Amendment) Act, 2015 was brought into force 15 January 2016, except for sections 27 and 28, which came into force 1 April 2016. Section 27 repealed and replaced section 118. Section 28 renumbered the original section 118A as 118C and inserted new sections 118A and 118B. The BVI Business Companies (Amendment) Regulations, 2015, in force 15 January 2016, and the BVI Business Companies (Restricted Company Names) Notice 2013 (as amended) have also been included in this updated compendium.

Included in this Compendium are the BVI Business Companies Act, 2004, the BVI Business Companies (Company Names) Regulations, 2007, the Segregated Portfolio Companies Regulations, 2005 and the BVI Business Companies (Restricted Company Names) Notice (all as revised). This Compendium does not, however, contain the various forms and filings prescribed by the legislation; these are available on request from Conyers Dill & Pearman.

While every effort has been made to ensure its accuracy, and it is believed that the only errors in this reprint are those contained in the statutes themselves (which errors have been faithfully reproduced), no responsibility is assumed for the content and reference is made to the original for an authoritative statement of the law.
