On July 19, the Belgian Federal Parliament adopted a law on the protection of physical
persons with regard to the processing of personal data (source
document in French and Dutch). The law implements Belgian-specific
rules and exceptions allowed under the GDPR. It complements the
institutional law adopted on December 3, 2017, establishing the
Belgian Data Protection Authority. It enters into force on the day
of its publication in the official journal.
