Israel has just instituted new rules governing the marketing and advertising of tobacco products.  The new rules take effect between March 2019 and January 2020.

Most significantly, the new rules ban almost all advertising of tobacco products, though advertising in some print media is still permitted.

The new rules also impose strict packaging requirements. Depending on the product, packaging must now include health warnings that take up between 30% and 60% of the package.  The remaining area of the packaging must be in a dark brown color (Pantone 448C).

The new rules also define electronic cigarettes as "smoking products," making them subject to applicable tobacco rules.
