The investor can obtain permanent residence by investing a minimum sum of EUR511,292 in government bonds. This investment is secured by the Government of Bulgaria and will be redeemed to the investor after the period of five years without payment of any interest.
This investment must be held for a minimum period of five years. The investor will be eligible to apply for citizenship after the period of five years.
The investor can use financing facilities offered by financial institutions in Bulgaria to make the investment. The investor will be required to pay a reduced investment amount that will be used to finance a five-year term loan of EUR 511,292. No further payments are required and the investor will receive redemption of any funds after the expiry of the period of five years.
To qualify for this option, the economic investor must show proof of ownership of global net assets of value not less than EUR 1 million as required by chartered banks in Bulgaria.
The applicant and family members are exempt from the mandatory residence and language requirements along with the requirement to renounce current nationality when becoming a Bulgarian citizen.
