Signing of the Act on the principles of obtaining information about the criminal record of people applying for employment and people employed in financial sector entities ("the Act")

The President of Poland has signed the Act that enables employers from the financial sector to obtain information regarding criminal records of its future and current employees. The regulations aim to mitigate possible risk connected with employments of convicted people, protect various interests of financial market participants, in particular clients of financial sector entities, against unfair commercial practices and to strengthen trust towards the financial sector.

The Act came into force on June 11, 2018 (with minor exceptions).
