Our clients and colleagues will be aware of KRyS Global's longstanding support of INSOL International at local events in our own jurisdictions and the wider international insolvency community. We have sponsored four candidates in the Global Insolvency Practice Course all of whom have attained designation as Fellows of INSOL, contributed panelists at a number of conferences and chaired and sponsored INSOL's one day events in the Channel Islands and the Caribbean.

Those of you who attended the INSOL International conference in New York last week will have heard of INSOL's latest educational program, the Foundation Certificate in International Insolvency Law. The course is being devised to provide delegates, particularly from developing countries and economies, an introduction to the concepts of international insolvency law and practice.  KRyS Global's Guernsey Managing Director, Tim Le Cornu has been invited to join the steering committee of this unique and important educational initiative to represent the offshore jurisdictions.  With a launch date of September 2019, the steering committee, led by David Burdette of INSOL, is setting about identifying contributors to help develop materials and content of the course.

Immediately following the New York Conference Tim also attended the INSOL International Board meeting as an observer, prior to taking up a seat on the Board for the next 12 months, representing offshore jurisdictions.  Tim is taking over the baton from Robyn Mayor ahead of her pending retirement. Tim's leading role in starting ARIES, the Channel Islands member body of INSOL, five years ago was a key factor being asked to join the Board. Tim is looking forward to making a contribution to the important initiatives INSOL is planning and being a part of the leading role INSOL plays in the international Insolvency community.
