A networking event co-organized by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and ARIS | A Really Inspiring Space, an idea stage accelerator based in Limassol, was held on Wednesday, July 11th, 2018 at the premises of ARIS with great success.

The event took place on the occasion of the arrival of Circal Technologies in Cyprus (www.circaltechnologies.nl), an award-winning start-up from the Netherlands that provides shipping companies with incentives to be more environmentally friendly, aiming at reducing the CO2 and sulphur emissions worldwide and thus turning emissions into valuable resources, such as biofuels or bioplastics.

During the event Mr. Mark A. Rutgers Van Der Loeff, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy gave a warm welcome to all the attendees and Mrs. Monica Ioannidou Polemitis, Director of ARIS and the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Centre of Deloitte presented briefly the priorities and the residency program offered by the accelerator. Ms Cato Bui and Mr. Maarten Takken of Circal Technologies presented the technical aspects of their innovative solution, the benefits for the ship owners and the plans of their start-up.

The event was very appealing and attracted the interest of the main stakeholders of the shipping industry in Cyprus, who will facilitate the start-up to access the market and continue with their research activities, while realising effectively their residency program at ARIS.
