Data – the world's most valuable commodity according to some. We are hosting a webinar series during which we will look at who owns what, how data can be protected and what happens when data is lost.

The first session will focus on rights of ownership. The GDPR establishes the rules on who can do what with data that they control and process. But who owns the data? Is there a difference between copyright in a database, and database rights?

The second session will look at the law of confidence and how the courts can help businesses protect their confidential information.

Finally, we will look at the consequences of a data breach. The Regulators have been in the news seeking to impose substantial fines. But businesses also have to consider the possibility of follow on claims and we will discuss the basis for those claims.
