On the13th of February 2020, our Advocate Mr. Zacharias Kapsis of the Shipping Department, represented A. Karitzis & Associates L.L.C, attending the Shipping Symposium namely ' The modern challenges of Shipping in Cyprus. Technical and legal trends in Smart Shipping', which was organised by the School of Law of UCLan Cyprus.

Τhe event took place in St. Raphael Hotel, in Limassol, Cyprus and it consisted of speeches by legal and non-legal professionals in the field of shipping, as well as a panel discussion with professionals and representatives of the shipping industry. The topics of the Symposium were amongst others, the Smart Contracts and Letters of Credit, the Data Security and Smart Shipping and the Autonomous ships.

During the event, Mr. Zacharias Kapsis had the opportunity to discuss and compare notes with Mr.  James Davey, professor of Insurance & Commercial Law at the University of Southampton and Deputy President of the British Insurance Law Association, the British chapter of AIDA.

The Symposium was placed under the auspices of the Shipping Deputy Ministry to the President of Cyprus.
