In these challenging times, tangible support to our communities is more important than ever. At Vistra, we believe it's important to give back to local charity organisations, so we partner with them on impactful initiatives.

We have been supporting The Vistra Jersey Kids Triathlon via the charity Blood Cancer UK for the last couple of years. Unfortunately, the organisers had to cancel the event scheduled for June 2020 due to the pandemic. All registrations were transferred to next year's event, which is planned to take place on 12 June 2021. The cancellation of the triathlon along with other charity events, has meant the charity missed out on raising valuable funds they heavily rely upon. Our Vistra Jersey office stepped in by donating £6,000 to support the charity's initiatives.

Chairperson of Blood Cancer UK, Jersey branch, Chris Rowland, said:

"We are overwhelmed with the generosity of Vistra Jersey, who have been wonderful sponsors of the Kids Triathlon for many years and are huge supporters of the charity. We cannot thank them enough, especially in these difficult times for charity organisations. We are also delighted to have them continue their sponsorship of the Kids Triathlon for another three years".

Commenting on the pledge, Clive T. Wright, Managing Director, Vistra Jersey, said:

"It is an honour and pleasure to partner with the Jersey branch of Blood Cancer UK in their aim to beat blood cancer. Vistra is proud to be a sponsor, especially during this challenging year where the coronavirus pandemic impacts many charity organisations and fundraising efforts are halted short. We are sad that the Kids Triathlon had to be cancelled this year but look forward to next year's event to raise more important funds for Blood Cancer UK!"

Blood cancer is the third deadliest cancer in the UK, claiming more than 15,000 lives each year. In Jersey alone, an average of 100 people are diagnosed with blood cancer each year. Our donation of £6,000 will go towards funding clinical trials, blood cancer research projects, and supporting the many scientists, researchers, and nurses who are dedicated to finding a cure and helping patients and families who are impacted by blood cancer.
